Internet problems

The Danish mobile network provider, TDC, reports problems with both calls and internet connections throughout their network. It does not mean that you cannot connect to the positioning system, but you may have to reconnect more often than usual.

Due to an internal network error we have lost the connection to all four FEH stations. The single station correction broadcast is still fully operational. The VRS service is also operational, but expect a slightly degraded accuracy.
The root cause has been identified, and we are currently working intensely to correct it. New message will follow, when we are back to normal operations.

Cell phone networks in Denmark are troubled

At least one of the major Danish cell phone networks are troubled this afternoon. We can see that some users have been disconnected from the positioning system, but most of them have also reconnected shortly thereafter.
The positioning system itself (VRS and single station broadcast) is not affected at this time.

Service window for FEH3 early Thursday morning

Our internet service provider will be updating their network on Thursday, November 21 between 00 and 06.
Even though our backup connection should step in, this could result in a few shorter interruptions of the data stream from FEH3 to the VRS service. This may affect users working in the area around FEH3.
The UHF broadcast of FEH3 corrections will not be affected.

Service window - early Wednesday morning

Trimble has announced a service window on one of its global GNSS services on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 between 04 and 06. Since the Femern Positioning System uses data from this service, we will unfortunately experience an interruption of the FPS for 5-10 minutes during the mentioned period.

We will have a short service window tomorrow (Thursday, November 28) between 08:00 and 11:00. This will only involve FEH3 and FEH4, and each station is expected to be offline for about 15 minutes.
The VRS solution will not be affected, and the UHF broadcasted corrections will also be fully operational as usual.

We will do some firmware updates on FEH2 on Thursday, May 2nd, betwwen 21:00 and 23:00. During this time FEH2 will not contribute to the VRS solution.
We will still be broadcasting FEH2 single station corrections via UHF.

No VRTK2 broadcast on April 17 and 18

We are planning to move the VRTK2 broadcast radio from Lolland to Fehmarn on Wednesday (April 17) and Thursday (April 18). This means, that there will be no VRTK2 broadcast during that time.
The VRS service (NTRIP) and the UHF radio broadcast of FEH1-4 and VRTK1 is not affected. They will full operational as usual.

20° elevation mask on VRTK broadcast

Due to limited bandwidth on the radio and an increasing number of available satellites, we need to limit the amount of correction data in the VRTK1 and VRTK2 stream. We will do that by increasing the elevation mask from 10° to 20°. So the VRTK1 and VRTK2 streams broadcasted via radio will only include correction for satellites above 20°.
This will insure a smooth and stable correction stream and provide plenty of correction data at the same time.
The VRS correction stream provided via internet and NTRIP is not changed in any way.
